A lifetime at sea.....

HANZ CHRISTIAN

From joining the New Zealand Navy at the age of 16, Hanz has spent a lifetime on and under the sea.  As the "ship's diver" while in the Navy, Hanz was required to enter the water when required - often from the highest part of the ship he was serving on, to check for mines which may have been attached to the hull of the navel vessel.

More recently, Hanz has spent 10 years commercial fishing on the Great Barrier Reef, before circumnavigating New Zealand on SEA VIXEN, and finally sailing to Vanuatu and settling in Port Vila.

KATE MILES

Another lifetime spent on and under the water, Kate operated her own charter boat in New Zealand's wild Fiordland coast for eight years before heading north and meeting up with Hanz on the Gt Barrier Reef out of Mackay, Queensland.

Hanz and Kate continue their life at sea in the friendly waters of Vanuatu - operating JADE on the calm waters of Erakor Lagoon and Port Vila Bay, and SEA VIXEN on the more unpredictable seas around the entire 78 islands that make up the Republic of Vanuatu.
